  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Manchester City are one short of a prolific goal scorer and Eriksson has wasted no time in entering the transfer market again. He met the club owner Thaksin Shinawatra to discuss about the club's development.

The former England boss has decided to bid for the CSKA Moscow striker after looking at the fellow Brazilians Vagner Love and Daniel Carvalho.

João Alves de Assis Silva aka Jo has proven to be a skillful, strong and a pacey striker and has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances for CSKA Moscow in the first season making himself the fan favorite. He also scored the 2 goals against Inter Milan in the Champions League.

He was linked to European giants AC Milan and Arsenal FC. He came close to joining Valencia in the first transfer window of 2008 before the deal fell through. CSKA chairman Evgeny Giner had said that he will not hold back players who are keen to join clubs in major European leagues.
