Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking into a Bosman move for midfielder Juan Mata whose contract with Manchester United expires in the summer.
The Spain international has made over 200 appearances for United in the past four-and-a-half seasons but his future with the club seems uncertain with his contract expires in two months' time.
Barcelona have already been linked with a potential move for the 30-year-old ahead of the summer but Sport claims that Atletico are heading the queue to sign the playmaker.
Mata is currently said to demand a two-year extension with United but so far, the club have been reluctant to discuss more than a one-year deal which has urged him to consider his options.
Neither Barcelona or Atletico are likely to assure him of a regular starting role but reports indicate that he would receive a minimum of a three-year deal to take him to the final years of his career.
