Chelsea defender keen on Atletico Madrid move?

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has reportedly indicated Atletico Madrid that he wants to join the team during this summer's transfer window.

Atletico are expected to pursue a new left-sided defender this summer with Lucas Hernadez being sold to Bayern Munich while Filipe Luis has been tipped to leave on a Bosman move.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Alonso has made it clear that he would prefer a Madrid return with Atletico and it will be up to the Spanish club to accept a transfer fee with the Blues.

Alonso made 39 appearances for the west London giants during the recently-concluded campaign, but he found himself out-of-favour at the backend of the season where Emerson got the nod ahead of him for the left-back role.

Alonso has more than four years remaining on his current deal with the club and the Blues may be reluctant to sell, unless they receive a significant fee for the defender's signature.
