  • Sevilla v Atletico Madrid

    Venue:Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Sevilla

La Liga Records:68 times, Sevilla won 29, Atletico won 11 and 28 draws.

    League Standings: Sevilla - 5th(45pts), Atletico Madrid - 4th(47pts).

    Recent Form

Sevilla have lost just once in the last eight league matches and is enjoying a tremendous run that could help them finish in the top four. They defeated Valencia away from home in the last match with two strikes from the in-form Luis Fabiano.

Sevilla does not have any real problems in the attacking front with Fabiano and Kanoute enjoying their partnership and Keita adding to it.

Atletico Madrid have a really strong team eventhough they miss their attacking spearhead and former captain Fernando Torres. Javier Aguirre and his men has to prove a point that they can show consistency in their best form.

Los Colchoneros won their last match against Levante 3-0 and had even defeated the title contenders Barcelona 4-2, two weekends ago. Considering the whole season, Atletico had a mixed result of wins and losses but they find themselves fourth in the league table scoring 48 goals in 28 matches.

Sevilla have only lost three of their home matches in the season winning ten and drawing one. Atletico Madrid do not have a good away record having lost eight of them and only winning four.

    Past Meeting

Atletico Madrid won in the home match against Sevilla 4-3 last season

Sánchez Pizjuán saw Sevilla beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 in the last season.

    Eyefootball Prediction

    Sevilla 3 - 2 Atletico Madrid

It will a really exciting match with the home team having advantage and more likely to win in the Sánchez Pizjuán. Atletico Madrid seem to be over-dependent on the reliable Sergio Kun Aguerro and if he fails, they are more likely to be defeated. The Madrid side have a habit of conceding late goals.
