Manchester United are confident of landing Daniel James as their first summer signing despite the potential competition in the form of AS Monaco in the transfer window.
The 21-year-old has gone through an impressive breakthrough season with the Swans where he contributed eight goals and five assists across all competitions.
Owing to this progress, United are said to be eager to secure a transfer agreement and according to Le10Sport, the same is likely to happy despite the late interest from Monaco.
The Red Devils were initially hoping to secure James' signature for an initial &pound10m but reports indicate that they may have to pay at least double the sum amid the competition from Leonardo Jardim's men.
United are understood to hold a particular emphasis on boosting the British talent within their ranks and they have also been linked with a big-money move for Leicester City's James Maddison this summer.
