Grant: we dont copy Arsenal

Grant: we don't copy Arsenal

23 March 2008 - 11:32

Ahead of today's crucial clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, the Blues' boss Avram Grant has insisted that his Chelsea side have not attempted to copy Arsenal's attacking style. The game potentially could either sides Premiership chances.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • 'There are no two managers the same, Wenger is more about the style of game, and we need to respect him,' Grant said.

'All over the world people want to watch Arsenal, me too. Alex [Ferguson] has other types of players, not so much about tactics, but knows how to manage people and has a very good eye. [Rafa] Benitez for me is also a great manager - all we talk about are the top four, there are other good managers, but there are no secrets.

'It's how you play the football, how you close, support, come inside, control the game, control the rhythm of the game, and this is important. There are no secrets, I don't think any of the top coaches know better.

'When Arsene took Arsenal I know how you called Arsenal 'Boring Arsenal', but I don't think even one person would say it now. I don't think one person would say about Chelsea that Chelsea is boring this year."
