Manchester United to miss out on Nicolas Pepe?

Manchester United could reportedly miss out on the signature of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe during the ongoing transfer window.

  • The attacker has been given the green light to pursue a fresh challenge away from the French outfit this summer and this has seemingly caught the eye of top European clubs.

Of late, the Red Devils are said to have made contact with the Ligue 1 side over a potential deal for the 24-year-old, but it appears that the club could lose out on the player with Lille accepting the proposal from Napoli.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Lille president Gerard Lopez confirmed that Napoli have made their £72m price tag for the right-sided winger but the move depends on the final decision from the player himself.

"Napoli have satisfied our request of €80m. Now it will be up to the player to decide where to go, also on the basis of other proposals that his agents received from four clubs," he said.

Aside from United, Inter Milan and Arsenal have also been linked with the Ivory Coast international, though neither are likely to match the demands of the French outfit.
