United feared Sanchez repeat with Dybala

Manchester United rejected signing Paulo Dybala for this reason

29 August 2019 - 14:54

Manchester United are understood to have turned down the opportunity to sign Paulo Dybala amid concerns whether they would get a return for their investment.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • The Red Devils were widely fancied to sign Dybala from Juventus during the English transfer window but a deal failed to materialise with issues over his wages and image rights.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils were indeed keen on acquiring the signature of Argentina international but they were fears that he could struggle in the same fashion like Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez has simply failed to impress for the Red Devils since joining them from Arsenal in January 2018 and he is currently on the verge of linking up with Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal.

United have taken a financial hit with a number of signings over the past years and it appears that the hierarchy were reluctant to gamble on Dybala, who had an average 2018/19 season with Juventus.
