Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that both N'Golo Kante and Pedro are absent for the Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.
Kante missed the previous league meeting against Norwich City with an ankle sprain while Pedro suffered a hamstring problem in the warm-ups prior to that game.
Hence, the duo were always doubtful for the Blades clash and Lampard has now confirmed that they won't feature against Chris Wilder's men tomorrow.
Speaking in a press conference, Lampard acknowledged that both players are not fit and hopefully, they can make a comeback after the international break.
"N’Golo Kante is not fit. It’s a continuation of his ankle problem. Pedro is not fit. Hopefully he should be fit the other side of the international break as well," he was quoted as saying by Chelsea's official website.
Meanwhile, Lampard revealed that Antonio Rudiger will continue stepping up with his fitness after a long-term knee injury and he is expected to feature for the development squad tonight.
Rudiger has been training with his Blues teammates since the start of August but Lampard is prepared to delay his introduction to regular first-team action until after the international break.
