Manchester United to swoop for England attacker?

13 September 2019 - 10:26

Manchester United are reportedly planning to swoop for the services of James Maddison from Leicester City when the season comes to a close.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Maddison has been a top signing for the Foxes since arriving from Norwich City in the summer of 2018 and he has already contributed seven goals and nine assists for the club in the Premier League.

His progress has certainly caught the attention of the Red Devils and The Manchester Evening News claims that they could make an approach for Madisson at the end of the campaign.

United are desperately in the need for a creative midfielder in the ranks but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be forced to wait until next summer to land Maddison, given the Foxes are unlikely to sanction a mid-season sale.

Maddison, who started his career with Coventry City, has been called up to the England national team on a couple of occasions, but on both instances, he has failed to earn any gametime under Gareth Southgate.
