Paul Pogba to make staggering wage demands at Manchester United?

French midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly holding out for a bumper wage increase in order to commit his long-term future to Manchester United.

  • Everton make bid for Oleksandr Zinchenko
  • Marseille table bid for Chelsea defender

  • The 26-year-old is currently contracted to the club until the summer of 2021 but the club have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months through a clause present in his deal.

According to Diario Madrista, United plan to open up negotiations with the midfielder's agent regarding a contract extension but the renewal appears far from likely.

Pogba has been in a contract standoff with the Mancunian giants for more than a year and reports indicate that he could demand around twice of his current £290,000-a-week wages to prolong his Old Trafford stay.

United are unlikely to consider a such a huge outlay for the 2018 World Cup winner and it is suggested that they could be tempted to sanction his sale when the season comes to a close.

The former Le Havre youngster has been sidelined for the past three games with an ankle problem but he is expected to return for the League Cup third round tie against Rochdale tonight.
