Massimiliano AllegriĀ is reportedly prepared to take over the Manchester United job in the coming months, provided he is handed with a sizeable transfer kitty for the winter transfer window.
United have made an average start to the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they are currently languishing in the eighth spot in the league after managing just one win in the past five games.
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, the Red Devils have Allegri at the top of their wishlist to replace Solskjaer, should the results fail to improve during the forthcoming months.
However, any approach may not be straightforward, considering Allegri will want assurances of a big budget to spend on players when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
Allegri has been out of work since parting ways with the Bianconeri at the close of the previous campaign. He was previously fancied to join Chelsea but their year-long transfer ban meant that he decided against the move.
