Martin Odegaard makes transfer decision?

Odegaard wants Real Madrid return after loan stint

Martin Odegaard makes transfer decision?

03 October 2019 - 20:15

Norwegian attacker Martin Odegaard has stated his ambition of playing for Real Madrid in the future amid the recent transfer interest from the likes of Manchester United.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The 20-year-old has been with Los Blancos since the summer of 2015 but he has not been able to make the breakthrough and has spent time on loan with the likes of Heerenveen and Vitesse Arnhem.

For the current season, he is plying his trade for Real Sociedad on loan and he has already made a huge impression with two goals and two assists in the Spanish top-flight.

This has resulted in transfer interest from the likes of United but Odegaard seems content to remain with Sociedad for the length of his loan contract before proving his credentials with Zinedine Zidane's side.

"My intention is to stay (at Sociedad) two years and I think that's important for me. This is a great club and hopefully we can get European football for next season. Of course I want to play there (Madrid) but I'm still young so I'm happy here at the moment," he told ESPN.

Odegaard has joined Sociedad on a season-long loan agreement but the Basque outfit have the option of extending his temporary stint for another year, should Los Blancos decide against recalling him.
