The Croatian has been a key performer for the Blaugrana in the past four seasons but he has recently struggled for gametime from the starting lineup with summer signing Frenkie de Jong preferred ahead of him.

According to Marca, the 2018 World Cup finalist is seriously considering a fresh challenge away from the Camp Nou and both United and Juventus are in the running to secure his services.

The Bianconeri have held an interest in signing Rakitic since the summer of 2018 but they could miss out on the midfielder to the Red Devils, who are likely to guarantee a regular starting spot.

United have failed to sign a single midfielder after the departures of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini and they have made it a priority to bolster their options in the centre of the park in January.
