Loris Karius set to be sent back to Liverpool in January

29 October 2019 - 08:28

Out of form goalkeeper Loris Karius is set to return to Liverpool in January after a dismal temporary spell in Turkey. The German shot-stopper, who famously cost the Anfield club a chance at winning the Champions League two years ago with two blunders in the final, is currently on loan at Besiktas hoping to win a permanent transfer.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • However it is reported by the Daily Mirror that Karius is no longer wanted and that Besiktas want to cancel the loan transfer and send the player back to Anfield. Karius arrived in Turkey on a two year loan deal at the end of 2017-18 and have an option to sign Karius on a permanent basis. Besiktas will not be taking that option up, leaving Karius' future uncertain.

Liverpool have signed Alisson in recent seasons who has gone on to impress all at the club, helping the Anfield side to the Champions League title last year.

Besiktas have been in poor form so far this season, with just three wins to their name in 9 efforts in the Turkish domestic league.
