Chelsea are reportedly set to compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the services of Brazilian teenager Reinier.

  • Eden Hazard insists Chelsea are much better without him

  • The 17-year-old only made his breakthrough with Flamengo earlier this year but he has already bagged three goals and two assists from 10 appearances for the club.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blues are hopeful of winning their appeal against the transfer ban this month and that would permit them to register new players in the New Year.

Reinier was initially fancied to join Atletico during the summer transfer window but they were put off after Flamengo inserted a £53.5m release clause into the youngster's contract.

Still, the Spanish giants continue to hold an interest in the attacking midfielder and there could be a bidding battle next year with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also in the running.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has recently stated that he would welcome new signings when the transfer window reopens despite the fact that the youngster at the club have impressed with their displays.
