Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly lining up a winter approach for Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
The 31-year-old has made just five appearances for the Red Devils this campaign and he has been on the sidelines with an unspecified concern for more than a month.
According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri boss Antonio Conte is keen on a reunion with Matic, who was a key player under his tutelage at former club Chelsea.
Matic's deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign but the Red Devils have the option of extending his contract by another year to preserve his transfer value.
Owing to this, the Nerazzurri are expected to propose a temporary deal for the Serbian in January with the option for a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign.
United are already on the hunt for an experienced midfielder to strengthen their squad and reports have emerged that they have made contact with the agent of Barcelona's Arturo Vidal.
