The England boss has allegedly withheld information in a court and maybe probed by an Italian state prosecutor. The FA is refusing to comment on the reports.
Reports from Italy suggests that Capello is being investigated by a state prosecutor after giving evidence at a trial where six men were accused of controlling transfers by intimidating players into signing for a sports management firm, GEA World.
The former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi and Davide Lippi, son of former Italian coach Marcello Lippi, are among the defendants.
Capello worked under Moggi at Juventus and was the manager of Roma between 1999 and 2004.
He was questioned in Rome and his time as Roma coach was the main focus of his appearance in court.It is claimed that the prosecutor believes Capello to have been evasive whilst giving evidence, as the England coach stated he had never heard of players being put under pressure to sign specific agreements.
âAt Roma, and then at Juventus when I was coach, I was only concerned with coaching choices.â said Capello.
The FA has refused to comment on this report and released a statement that read: "It is a private matter and The FA have no comment to make."
Capello's lawyers are confident that everything will soon be completely cleared. They stated that: "At the end of the hearing, Mr Capello was certain that in his capacity as a witness, he had given all the information required of him to the prosecutor and the court."
Under Italian law a person found guilty of withholding information can be imprisoned for up to six years.
In addition to this, Capello was under investigation for tax evasion, but he assured the Football Association that he had his financial affairs in order.
