Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the club will be without the services of both Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay in the near future.
Pogba was expected to make his comeback against Arsenal after being rested last weekend but he has now been advised to undergo a surgery for a nagging ankle problem.
McTominay, on the other hand, has been confirmed to have suffered a knee ligament damage and that is expected to keep him out of action for the next two months at the least.
Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal, Solskjaer won't be able to utilise the services of Pogba and McTominay with the former expected to be out for three to four weeks because of his upcoming operation.
"We’ve been without him (Pogba) all season so the boys who have been playing, they have been fantastic. It is a big blow that Paul is out, now that Scott’s out," he told MUTV.
"Scott will be out for a few months and that is a big blow for us. Scott has been magnificent. We hoped Paul could come back, he can’t and he will be back in a month."
United are currently fifth in the Premier League standings with 31 points, five behind Chelsea, who are holding onto the final Champions League spot for next term.
