Manchester United make transfer decision on Christian Eriksen

09 January 2020 - 20:09

Manchester United have reportedly ruled out the prospect of making a mid-season bid to sign Christian Eriksen from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Dane's current deal with Spurs expires at the end of the season and he has made his mind up to secure a new challenge rather than extend his contract.

United have been heavily linked with a January move for the Denmark international but Sky Sports News claims that the club have no ambition of placing a bid for his services this month.

Similarly, it is stated from other sources that Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has likewise vetoed the club's move for Eriksen and the Dane could spend the rest of the season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

United are understood to be eyeing a young and creative midfielder this month and their focus has recently turned to Donny van de Beek, who could be available for around £50m from Ajax Amsterdam.
