Chelsea have reportedly made fresh contract with Lyon as they seek to lure Moussa Dembele to Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline next week.
The Blues were keen on landing the Frenchman's signature earlier in the month but this saw Les Gones come up with the stance that the striker won't be sold in January.
According to The Sun, the Blues are said to be eyeing a new striker before the transfer window closes and as a result, they have revived their pursuit of the former Celtic man.
The west London giants have recently been linked with a loan move for Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain but that deal appears unlikely with Atletico Madrid regarded as the striker's preferred destination.
As such, they have re-opened talks with Les Gones for the once Fulham youngster and they are hopeful that a bid of around £45m could be sufficient to lure him from the Groupama Stadium.
Chelsea have previously had a £43m bid rejected for the marksman, who has netted 11 times in the French top-flight this term. He has previously been on the radar of both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
