Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that the club are still assessing Tammy Abraham's ankle injury which was picked up during the recent Premier League clash against Arsenal.
The England international sustained the problem during the closing stages of the 2-2 draw against the Gunners and he has now been ruled out of the FA Cup fourth round tie at Hull City.
Speaking ahead of that game, Lampard revealed that Abraham has avoided a hairline fracture on his ankle but the club are still monitoring his ankle to find out the extent of the injury.
"The good news is he hasn’t fractured anything. We were worried about a hairline fracture. The other news is we still have to see how he develops. It’s not a clear-cut one," he told Chelseafc.com.
"He’s not fit for the weekend but whether he’ll be fit for Leicester after that I’m still not sure. I haven’t got great news, or the news for you. It’s still not clear."
Abraham has contributed 15 goals for the Blues in all competitions this term and he has been the standout striker upfront with his back-up Michy Batshuayi scoring just five times.
Batshuayi has failed to find the net in any competition since September and the Belgian will be hoping to end the goalless streak when the Blues tackle the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday evening.
