'I want to see him performing', Frank Lampard demands more from Chelsea star

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has laid the challenge to Michy Batshuayi to score more goals after he managed to end his long goalless streak at Hull City on Saturday.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • The Belgian has struggled to impress with the limited opportunities at hand in recent months and his goal at the KCOM Stadium was his first since the match-winner in the Champions League game at Ajax.

Speaking after the game, Lampard talked up the importance of Batshuayi, particularly with Tammy Abraham unavailable for first-team action due to an ankle injury concern.

He added that the goal at Hull will definitely boost the confidence of the Belgian and he is hoping to see the striker performing on a consistent basis for the Blues.

He told: "He got his goal so I’m pleased as it’ll help his confidence. I want him firing, I want to see him performing. He’s an out and out striker, an international striker."

Chelsea are scheduled to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this weekend. They are currently holding a six-point advantage over Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United in the race for the fourth spot.
