Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fitness update on Bukayo Saka following the club's 0-0 draw against Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Gunners struggled to find the cutting edge to their gameplay in the final third and they eventually ended with a second straight stalemate in the Premier League.

In the first half, Saka had been struggling with an injury concern after an early knock but he managed to carry on until the interval before the decision was made to substitute him.

Speaking after the game, Arteta confirmed that Saka has sustained a knock with his knee and hip and the same will be assessed in the coming days, he told: "He had a knock in his knee and his hip so we'll see."

Xhaka slotted into the left side of the defence after Saka's exit and the Switzerland international produced an impressive display as he managed to make a couple of key blocks.

Arsenal have now registered four draws on the trot in the Premier League since the New Year's Day win over Manchester United. They are scheduled to face Newcastle United at home after the winter break.
