Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is said to favour the signing of Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.
The Blues were fancied to land a new attacker last month but ultimately, they failed in their pursuit as most of their targets were unavailable for purchase.
According to Standard Sport, Lampard will be handed with a £150m kitty for the summer and a part of the budget could be utilised to sign a winger.
Ziyech, who has bagged eight goals and 21 assists this term, has been earmarked as the leading target ahead of Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
Sancho has been linked with the Blues for a while but they may be reluctant to make an approach due to the large scale interest in the Englishman.
Sancho is expected to be valued in excess of £120m and that could take up most of the club's budget unless they are willing to offload few players.
On the other hand, Ziyech is likely to be available in the region of £55m and he operates similarly to Sancho on the right side of the attack.
Ziyech was hugely influential towards Ajax's League and Cup double last term and also helped them to reach the semi-final stage of the Champions League.
