Barcelona to lower Philippe Coutinho's price tag after unimpressive loan spell

Barcelona have decided to lower the price tag of Philippe Coutinho as they find it difficult to sanction his sale this summer, reveals Daily Mail.

  • Arne Slot confirms big Liverpool injury blow
  • Bournemouth close to signing Chelsea defender?

  • The Brazilian star has so far endured a tough loan spell with Bayern Munich, who have decided not to buy him permanently.

Regardless of  Coutinho’s poor run of form, one of the things which hindered his transfer was the £102m asking price slapped by Barca, which the Bavarians have found it too expensive.

As a result, the Catalans are now ready to cut £60m off his price tag, intending to sell him in the region of £68m-£80m should an offer arrive.

Barca bought the Brazilain from Liverpool for a reported value of £145m, and it has been downhill for him since then.

The Catalans are also doubtful on finding a potential suitor for the 27-year-old as the transfer links from Premier League have faded following his loan switch to Bundesliga.

However, Barca’s new manager Quique Setien is reportedly not vetoing against Coutinho’s return to Camp Nou.
