Manchester United receive boost in signing French striker

13 February 2020 - 19:49

Manchester United have received a boost in signing French striker Moussa Dembele from Lyon during this summer's transfer window.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The marksman was linked with a possible Premier League move last month but Les Gones made it clear that he won't leave at the midway point of the season.

According to L'Equipe, Les Gones president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated that he won't come in the way of any player, who wants to pursue a fresh challenge in the summer.

Dembele has been on the radar of both Chelsea and United over the past year but reports indicate that the Red Devils are leading the hunt to secure his services ahead of the Blues, who seem keen on landing Timo Werner from Leipzig.

The Red Devils have struggled to find much success with Anthony Martial leading the line this term and they are keen on pursuing a player of Dembele's calibre to provide competition.

Of course, Odion Ighalo could seal a permanent contract with the Red Devils this summer but that depends on him making a strong impression in his short-term loan stint from Shanghai Shenhua this term.
