Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Olivier Giroud following his impressive return to the starting lineup against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
The Frenchman made his first start in any competition since November and he took full advantage of the opportunity by scoring the opening goal.
Besides this, he was impressive with the quick link-up play with Ross Barkley and Mason Mount and Lampard was pleased with the effort put in by the experienced marksman.
"Oli is quality. You know his attributes. In a game where I expected Tottenham to be deep - which they were in the first half - you know you can find him and he can bring people into the game," he told the club's official website.
The 2-1 win over Spurs has ensured that the Blues remain in the fourth spot for at least one more gameweek. The west London side have not dropped below the top-four since September and it was a huge response on Saturday, given they were winless in the past four league games.
On Tuesday night, they have a testing encounter against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. They can't afford any lapses with the German champions in sublime goalscoring form this year.
