Alexandre Lacazette responds to Arsenal exit rumours

26 February 2020 - 19:15

Alexandre Lacazette has stated that he is clearly happy with his stay at Arsenal and has no idea of the exit clause mentioned in the French media.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Frenchman has endured a difficult campaign with the Gunners this season and it has recently been claimed that he has an agreement to leave the club, suppose they miss out on Champions League football.

However, speaking to L'Equipe, Lacazette has now dismissed those reports and indicated that he has no desire to part ways with the north London giants in the summer.

"I did not know. Yes, I have a contract with the club so there is no point for me to leave, everybody is happy with me at the club. If the manager, the coach, my team-mates are happy with me then that's the most important thing," he told.

Lacazette has recently found his scoring touch with goals in back-to-back appearances after the winter break but he has still dropped down the pecking order with Eddie Nketiah preferred upfront by Arteta for the league duties.

The youngster found the back of the net during the recent 3-2 win over Everton and Lacazette will definitely have to fight for his position through strong displays in the Cup competitions.
