Beckham seeking loan return

02 September 2007 - 16:39

David Beckham is rumoured to be interested in a loan return to England after the MLS season has ended. Beckham is currently on 97 caps and is believed to be worried that his chances of reaching 100 could be threatened from his lack of football over the winter months.

  • Beckham is reportedly interested in coming back to England on a 4 month loan deal, until January when the new MLS season begins.

Apparently, Beckham has called crisis talks with LA Galaxy staff in order to discuss his options at the end of the season.

Steve McLaren, when questioned about the possibility, refused to be drawn on the reports.

But McClaren told BBC Radio Five: "It's not for me to really comment on that. I spoke to David and I've not seen any quotes from him saying that. He has made no indication to me that he intends to do that.

The England boss said, "I can't comment one way or another on the likelihood (of a loan move) ... or how it would benefit one way or another."

If Beckham returns to England it will greatly improve his chances of reaching the 100 cap landmark.
