Dani Ceballos to depart Arsenal this summer

Arsenal have decided against making the transfer of Dani Ceballos a permanent one, informing the Spaniard that he can return to his parent club of Real Madrid once this season's campaign ends. Ceballos demonstrated flashes of brilliance early on in his Gunners career, but has recently struggled to force his way in to the club's first team.

  • With the coronavirus pandemic Arsenal have not been in action since March, and Ceballos' loan deal will end in May regardless, indicating the player's Arsenal spell has come to an end.

The Spanish international had shown some early notable performances, particularly against Burnley back in August of last year, but since then has not performed well on a regular basis.

It is understood that Real Madrid have told Ceballos that he is seen as an important member of the first-team, and is likely to play a more important role in the club's side going forward; having been given the seal of approval by club legend and manager Zinedine Zidane last week.

Ceballos has three years left on his Real deal.
