West Bromwich Albion are reportedly prepared to compete with Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Fenerbahce's Vedat Muriqi.

  • The Kosovo international has bagged 15 goals and six assists in his debut season at Fenerbahce and his displays have caught the eye of several English sides.

Both Manchester United and Spurs were keen on signing him during the January transfer window but Fenerbahce made it clear that they won't sanction his sale at the midway stage of the season.

Spurs have continued to maintain their interest in the striker over the past few months but it appears that they could face fresh competition from the Baggies.

Slaven Bilic's side are presently second in the Championship and they are in a reasonably comfortable position at the moment with a six-point advantage over third-placed Fulham.

They are likely to spend on new recruits if they are able to secure promotion and Aksam claims that Muriqi could be one of their prime targets. The Baggies are prepared to pay around £18m for his services.
