Spurs plan bid for Milik

Tottenham Hotspur to swoop for Serie A striker?

23 May 2020 - 20:09

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning a formal approach to sign Arek Milik from Napoli as they seek to reinforce the centre-forward department ahead of next season.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have been the regular choices for Spurs upfront in recent years but the fitness of the former has become a concern over the past 18 months.

With limited quality on the bench, there has been a negative influence on the club's results and manager Jose Mourinho is keen to address the issue with the purchase of a quality marksman.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Spurs are interested in landing the signature of Milik this summer but he won't come on the cheap with Napoli wanting at least £45m for his services.

It is added that the north London side may not have any room for negotiation over the price tag, considering Atletico Madrid could be prepared to compete with them to sign the ex-Ajax man.

Milik has bagged 46 goals from 109 appearances for Napoli. He has suffered a couple of long-term injury setbacks during his time in Naples but has still remained consistent with his goalscoring.
