Timo Werner rejected Manchester United for Chelsea move

RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is understood to have snubbed interest from Manchester United before agreeing to join Chelsea.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Germany international has been in fine form for Leipzig this term and he has bagged 31 goals and 13 assists from 41 appearances in all competitions.

Frank Lampard's side have recently agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old and a deal is expected to be finalised in the coming days with the Blues set to trigger the £53m release clause in his contract.

According to Sky Germany, the Blues were not the only club interested in Werner and there was competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.

While the Reds bowed out of the race because of the transfer fee, it is claimed that the German turned down the Red Devils for the Blues after receiving a more lucrative package.

The arrival of Werner at Stamford Bridge is likely to contribute to at least one exit in the centre-forward department. Michy Batshuayi has been widely fancied to leave the club this summer.
