Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that David Luiz picked up an ankle injury during the club's 2-1 win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter-final.
The Brazil international returned to the playing field for the Gunners after serving a two-match suspension and he played for 54 minutes before he was substituted with an injury concern.
Speaking after the game, Arteta confirmed that the centre-back sustained an ankle problem and he will get assessed on Monday, he told: "It was his ankle. He will get assessed [on Monday] but he was in pain."
Luiz recently put pen-to-paper on a one-year contract with the Gunners thereby ensuring his stay until the summer of 2021. He started as the central figure in the back three and had a solid game until the setback.
The north London side managed to beat the Blades to progress to the semis but they had a testing game. Daniel Ceballos bagged the winner in stoppage time shortly after David McGoldrick's equaliser.
