Liverpools stance on Kalidou Koulibaly revealed

Liverpool don't want Kalidou Koulibaly

Liverpool's stance on Kalidou Koulibaly revealed

Liverpool are understood to have no plans of signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli despite the frequent speculation in the media.

  • Arda Guler to sign for Chelsea?
  • Chelsea to make move for French youngster
  • The Reds recently won their maiden Premier League title after 30 years and it has been suggested that the club may seek to strengthen the squad further ahead of next season.

Over the past few months, it has been highlighted that a new centre-back could be a priority for the Reds and a recent report claimed that Jurgen Klopp wants to pair Koulibaly with Virgil van Dijk.

However, according to Sky Sports News, that won't be the case and the Merseyside giants have no intention of making a bid for the Senegal international this summer.

Instead, Manchester City appear the front-runners to sign the former Genk man and it remains to be seen whether they will pay a club-record £72m fee to convince Napoli into a sale.

Koulibaly recently helped the Serie A outfit win their first trophy in six years after they beat Juventus on penalties in the Coppa Italia final earlier this month.
