Arsenal have announced that Gabriel Martinelli has signed a fresh long-term contract following an impressive beginning to his Gunners career.
The 18-year-old was a relatively unknown when he joined the club from Ituano last summer, but he made a quick impression during their pre-season campaign.
Hence, he was drafted into the first-team squad under then-manager Unai Emery and over the course of the season, he has impressed with 10 goals and four goals in all competitions.
Martinelli is sidelined for the rest of the season with a knee injury picked up in training last month, but the club have provided some good news by confirming that he has signed a new deal.
The teenager has seen limited playing time from the starting lineup in the Premier League this term but his chances should improve in the next campaign.
While he has impressive finishing abilities, the youngster still needs to improve on his distribution and that is something he may have to work upon next season.
