Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that midfielder N'Golo Kante won't be available for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester United.
The Frenchman has missed the past few games with a hamstring injury but earlier this week, Lampard highlighted that he could make a comeback for the Cup semi-final.
However, that won't be the case. Speaking in the press conference ahead of Sunday's game, Lampard confirmed that Kante has not recovered from the troublesome hamstring concern.
"The squad is okay but N’Golo Kante won’t be fit for the match, He’s still not right so he’s out," He was quoted as saying by the club's official website earlier on Friday.
The Blues have lost all of their games against the Red Devils this term and Lampard will be aiming to avenge those results by getting the better of United this weekend.
The west London giants have endured a mixed campaign by their standards, but the FA Cup remains their only realistic chance of winning a trophy this season.
