Chelsea are reportedly looking into a move for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with manager Frank Lampard keen on finding a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Arrizabalaga had a difficult second season with the Blues last term and he was one of the worst performing goalkeepers in the Premier League with a save percentage of just 51.
Hence, it was unsurprising that he was dropped for a number of games by Lampard and it now appears that the manager wants another shot-stopper to replace the Spaniard.
As things stand, no clubs are likely to meet the £50m price tag for Arrizabalaga, but reports claim that the Spaniard could be offloaded on a temporary basis with interest from Valencia and Athletic Bilbao.
Meanwhile, it is reported by L'Equipe that the club have enquired over the possibility of landing Mendy from Rennes. The Senegal international recently helped the French outfit qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
