Chelsea close to negotiating midfielder exit to Serie A club

Chelsea are close to negotiating the departure of Tiemoue Bakayoko on a temporary basis to AC Milan, a report from Calciomercato claims.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • The Blues are keen to offload a number of out-of-favour players this summer, but it is unlikely that they will receive permanent proposals for all of them.

Bakayoko has been heavily linked with a loan move to the Rossoneri and it is reported that he could join them in the next few days.

The west London giants are currently in the process of finalising his transfer with the Milan outfit, who are prepared to include a £30m buy option.

Aside from Bakayoko, the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Emerson and Danny Drinkwater could all head for the exit door during the current transfer window.

Batshuayi is currently the subject of interest from Leeds United, but it is unclear whether they will meet the £26m price tag set by Frank Lampard's side.

Emerson, on the other hand, has been strongly tipped to make the switch to the Serie A with Inter Milan.

The deal could, however, be dependent on whether Antonio Conte remains the club's manager next term.
