Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson says that he doesn't want to see Lionel Messi anywhere near the Premier League.
The Argentine star has been linked with Manchester City since handing in a transfer request to leave Barcelona.
But The Reds fullback hopes he doesn't have to come up against Barcelona captain in England.
"I hope that it doesn't happen. that's from my selfish point of view. I hope he stays at Barca," he told via Goal.com.
"I have played against him two times and for me, that was the most difficult games. If not the best footballer, Lionel Messi is one of the best who ever played this game. So for me to see him going to one of our rivals is probably never a good sign. He's a fabulous player, there is no doubt if he came to this championship he'd bring the same quality, the passion, that he brings at his club.
"I think Liverpool are not going to sign Messi and that's why I do not want to see him in the Premier League."
