Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is contemplating a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero amid the inconsistent displays of Jordan Pickford.
Pickford had an average 2019/2020 season with the Toffees where he made a few high-profile errors. Things have not changed for the new campaign and he recently made two howlers in the 5-2 win over Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup third round.
According to The Mirror, Carlo Ancelotti is contemplating the purchase of a new goalkeeper before the transfer deadline after the recent blunders from the England international.
It is added that Romero has emerged as a potential option for Ancelotti. The Argentine has become the third-choice shot-stopper at United behind the likes of David de Gea and Dean Henderson.
He was the back-up goalkeeper to De Gea over the past five years and reports claim that United are prepared to sanction his sale for around £10m in the current transfer window.
Romero has also been linked with Leeds United in the past.
