United expecting to make two more signings

David Ornstein updates on Manchester United's transfer plans

30 September 2020 - 21:37

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has revealed that Manchester United are expecting to make two more signings before the international transfer deadline next week.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Burnley clash
  • Man Utd attacker suspended for Brentford game

  • The Red Devils were expected to go on a spending spree during the ongoing transfer window, but that has clearly not been the case.

They have signed just one player in Donny van de Beek to date, but Ornstein reports that the club could make two more additions before the deadline.

It is widely known that United are looking to sign a new left-back and they are currently in advanced negotiations with Porto for Alex Telles.

Meanwhile, they are also keen on landing a right winger and are currently in talks with Barcelona over a loan deal for Ousmane Dembele.

Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho had been their prime target, but a deal appears unlikely due to the hefty £108m valuation for his services.

Manchester United recently booked their spot in the quarter-final stage of the Carabao Cup after a 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on the road.
