Edinson Cavani to miss Manchester United's trip to Newcastle United

Manchester United have confirmed that new signing Edinson Cavani won't be available for the trip to Newcastle United due to the compulsory quarantine period.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Uruguayan signed for the Red Devils on a free transfer on October 4 and the deal was made official before the international transfer deadline.

The Red Devils have now revealed that the striker has been forced to self-isolate for two weeks, given he was not part of any bio-secure bubble.

Hence, Cavani won't available for the Magpies clash this weekend and will only report to training a couple of days before the Paris Saint-Germain clash.

Cavani spent seven glorious seasons with Les Parisiens where he became their record scorer with 200 goals across all competitions.

He left the club after his contract expired in June and could be set to face them in the Champions League this month, if he is deemed fit to play.

Alex Telles was the other high-profile signing on deadline day from Porto. The left-back is likely to make his debut against the Magpies.
