Chelsea are reportedly planning to raise more than £50m in January from the sale of out-of-favour players.

  • The west London side spent more than £220m on seven major signings this summer, but they were unable to balance their books.

The likes of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri were linked with summer exits, but they could not receive any suitable offers.

According to Football.London, the capital outfit will aim to raise funds in January and the above-mentioned duo could head for permanent exits.

Elsewhere, Kepa Arrizabalaga is another player, who could be shown the exit door after failing to impress between the sticks.

Kepa was purchased for a world-record £72m fee for a goalkeeper, but he has proved a disappointment with his poor save percentage.

The Blues are prepared to cut their losses on the Spaniard and could sell him for a cut-price deal of around £30m when the transfer window reopens.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Manchester United on the road this weekend.
