Metz had to work hard to keep Lyon out for most of the game, and it seemed that Lyon could only break Metz's resistance just once.
Late on, Daniel Gygax of Metz could have very easily have grabbed a late equaliser for Metz but luckily for Lyon, keeper Gregory Coupet was in superb form.
