Manchester United could attempt to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde during the upcoming transfer window.
Kounde was one of the prime targets for Manchester City in the summer, but they refused to meet the £60m valuation.
Hence, the Frenchman stayed put with the Europa League holders, but the speculation over his future has continued to exist.
According to The Mail, United are on the look out for a new centre-back with the inconsistency of the pairing of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire.
The duo have received criticism from some fans over their performances and there are doubts whether Eric Bailly can provide adequate competition.
Bailly has produced some standout displays in the past, but the Ivorian has been prone to injuries after a certain period of games.
Due to this, United seem keen on recruiting Kounde, who was part of the Sevilla side which eliminated them in the Europa League semis last term.
It is still unclear whether the Andalusian outfit will consider offers for the 22-year-old at the midway stage of the season.
