Christian Eriksen may not make his return to Tottenham Hotspur this month as Inter Milan are demanding a loan fee.
The Dane has been transfer listed by the Nerazzurri, just 12 months after arriving from Spurs for around £16.5m.
Eriksen has turned out 40 times for the Serie A giants, but he has struggled to impress with only four goals and three assists.
It was recently suggested that he could be permitted to return to Spurs on loan for the rest of the campaign.
However, that option appears unlikely at the moment with Inter demanding a loan fee on top of the player's wages, as per Fabrizio Romano.
So far, no clubs have come forward to meet the proposal and Eriksen may have to remain with the club until the summer.
Spurs are currently contemplating the loan departure of Dele Alli with interest from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Eriksen has been mentioned as a suitable replacement, but a move appears unlikely unless Inter waive off the loan fee.
