Grant: my Chelsea job is safe

16 April 2008 - 21:36

Chelsea boss Avram Grant believes his job is secure for another season; and thinks realistically he had no chance of leading the Stamford Bridge outfit to glory this year because they were already too far behind Manchester United at the top of the table.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • “Realistically, we never had a chance from the moment I arrived because we were behind the league leaders,” Grant said.

“I think the pressure is on but we have come from nowhere to fight for the title.

“I am not thinking about my future, even if I have a contract. I did not think about it in the past, and if the club is happy with me then I will continue.

“It is important that I need to do my job for Chelsea. I think we have done a great job up until now. Nobody is perfect, as you know.

“Nobody has told me I have to deliver a trophy this year, but I want to. I can only look at the situation at the moment and the situation is good.”
