Bayern move closer to the title

Bayern move closer to the title

16 April 2008 - 21:40

Bayern Munich have moved a step closer to securing the Bundesliga thanks to a brace from Italian striker Luca Toni in the 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night. Bayern now have a ten point lead over Werder Bremen.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • Frankfurt pulled ahead in the 29th minute through Benjamin Kohler, which came as a shock for the Bavarian side.

However, Bayern responded quickly and Daniel van Buyten equalised at the hour mark when the Belgian defender stood alone to hammer home a header off a corner.

Frankfurt agonisingly thought they took the lead through Amanatidis but Bayern then took the lead 10 minutes later through Luca Toni.

The game was wrapped up when an Schlaudraff received a long pass down the right wing and fed Toni for his second of the game.
